Turn Hose into Heritage: Learn to Craft an American Flag from Retired Fire Hose

It all starts with an old fire hose and a spark of creativity. This hands-on hobby blends

craftsmanship with firefighter pride—and it’s easier to get started than you might think.

Andy Muzzy learned the ropes from Dave Burton, and since then, their handcrafted flags have

become national treasures in homes, restaurants, and offices. Also, featured on Fox News and in

partnership with Folds of Honor, these flags have raised thousands of dollars in charitable

donations.

Now, Andy’s passing the torch, and you’re invited to join the ranks.

Join us at the Tampa Firefighters Museum on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, from 0900 to 1600 hours for a full-day workshop where you’ll learn how to create your own fire hose flag—a project that might just grow into a fulfilling side hustle.
